ECS not deducted

I have bought LED TV 47" and took up a loan from Bajaj Finance. I have connect my bank accounts to ECS.The first instalment was not deducted. After 2 weeks they call me saying there is a technical fault as they could not deduct the amt and told me to give a cheque for the said amt. I prepare to give a cheque but under one condition that they should give me a letter saying the reason for not deducting the amt from the bank and also the acceptance of the cheque. But the person who contact me told that he could not give the letter. I am taking this precaution as later I don't want any problem.
