Lumina 710
Phonebook deleted

I bought my phone on the 24th April so not even 3 months old and after browsing available apps i returned to the home screen and noticed that all my contacts were not showing. I went into my phonebook and it was completely empty after going through all the settings available i was unable to retrieve them. As it's a windows phone and it is synchronised with my laptop i thought that i would be able to recover it from my laptop but as i was unaware that i would have to set it up to synchronise so again no phonebook. I contacted orange customer service on Saturday and they advised me to hold the off button for 10 seconds until it vibrates to reboot my phone and if that doesn't work to take the battery out while the phone is still on. I repeated this process both ways several times and still no phonebook. As i went from pay as you go to sim only i still had my old sim card and took this in to the orange shop hoping that they would be able to help me transfer my old details across which they were unable to do. I had to buy a second hand phone for £12 to get my numbers from my old sim but couldn't do it. I spent 35 minutes on the phone tonokiaa to a women who left me frustrated and no better off andunhelpfull. So please tell me is this a defect with thenokiaa lumina 710 because i'm feeling like i spent £179.99 on a phone that has been nothing but trouble. As i didn't get round to writing down my numbers i have now lost a very large amount of phone numbers that are very important to me. I hope that somebody will be able to tell me that there is a way of recovering my numbers.
