Sub: Legal Notice under Sec. 12, 17 & 21 of Consumer Protection Act 1986

Deficiency in support service during warranty period

Ref: Brother model MFC 6490CW All-in-one printer bearing Serial No. 9J-0109354260

Dear Sirs,

I am constrained to serve upon you this legal notice under consumer protection Act. 1986 and call upon you to replace my printer which had been giving me problems ever since I had purchased it on 30.04.2010.

I may add here that on your request I had brought this printer even to Bangalore from Gulbarga and left it with you for almost a month. The service record itself speaks of the complaints lodged by me and your casual attitude of handling the complaints.

Still I am having the same copy print problem (double shaded), secondly the new problem, each printing time I have to set the paper tray, (Tray 1 or Tray 2), lastly the magenta ink does not print in the colour printing after cleaning for 4 to 7 times.

By means of this formal notice I demand that my printer be replaced or the full refund of Rs. 40, 000/- be given to me alongwith Rs. 10, 000/- towards compensation for all the harassment faced by me all these days including the trouble of carrying it personally to Bangalore which is about 500 Kms from my city, within next 7 days failing which I will file a consumer complaint in the Consumer court here in Gulbarga itself.
