O General 1 ton split A.C
Compressor failure

I have bought O General 1 ton split A.C 3 years before. I had no complaints till last week, but suddenly one evening whole current fuse gone without any reason. After rectifying electric fuse problem in board, the a.c compressor didn't start up after 3 minutes of running and if I tried to start again the current fuse again burned in board. The a.c mechanic told me that the compressor in out door unit gone and have to replace it. I want to know why this problem raised, usually I heard of that O General A.C. will work with less maintenance cost without any problem. Please reply?
