I walked into a subway at a food court in Manipal, Karnataka. First of all I was shocked that they were using their bare hands to make the sandwiches! I figured if that's how they do it there then no point in being fussy about it. I politely ordered my sandwich and walked out. 3 days later I was in the hospital suffering from Typhoid Fever!! I asked the doctor what might have been the cause, and he said usually fecal contamination of uncooked foods. The only uncooked foods I had consumed that entire week would have been the veggies on my sub!!
