Overcharging by 'Hotel Saurabh-Only Veg', colaba, Mumbai

On 24.10.2010 (Sunday), at about 2pm I went to 'Hotel Saurabh-Only Veg', located on rd to Navyngar, near Colaba bus Station, facing Mehta International Eye Clinic, to buy a bottle of Thumbs Up cold drink. The shopkeeper showed me the 1.25 Lt. bottle which had a tag of special price 33/- on it. However, the shopkeeper asked me to pay Rs 45/- for it. On my asking why he was charging so high, his reply was that this is his price and if I wanted to buy there was no choice but to pay this price. He even said he will issue recipt for Rs 45/-. I didn't buy.

Later I went to another nearby shop on same road where it was selling for Rs 40/- as per MRP printed on it (he said that he didn't have the stock of special priced bottle). I bought 2 bottles of 2lt. for rs 120/- as per printed MRP.

I feel that Saurabh Hotel is overcharging the customers by a huge margin, whichneeds to be arrested at the earliest.
