Damage of house hold articles

Teak wood sofa was booked for transportation through Navata transport from Bobilli, Andhra Pradesh to Bangalore, Karnataka. one leg of Sofa was broken into 2 pieces.when we called the transport after removing the package, they then told they will come home and check and will take the decision on it. they never turned up till 4 days and then I went to office and they are responding very rudely and told that will not do anything for damage. Please help me out.
