Freezes with facebook

Chrome freezes everytime I open facebook with it. Have reinstalled chrome, cleared cache repeatedly, cleaned my registry, but no option has worked. Am using AVG Internet Security 2012 and Windows 7 64Bit. Facebook works without problem on IE on same computer.
