Prescribing of Penicillin based medication to a Penicillin allergic patient

I was suffering from cough/fever and a slight congestion

..for which I was prescribed Fightox 625 twice daily... which is penicillin based medication... and I am allergic to penicillin from childhood... I did not think that such strong medication would be prescribed for such a small ailment... it could have been fatal..I could have died.

Such Doctors who cannot even follow the protocol of asking the patients their medical history before prescribing such potentially fatal drugs should not be allowed to pratice any more..their license should be revoked forever.
