I am Shripad Hegde (Aged 37years), Male. I had EAR pain for few days in Oct and consulted Dr. RUDRAPPA in Dr. Rudrappa's Hospital, in richmond town Bangalore. Dr. Rudrappa diagnosed the EAR and told that THERE IS A HOLE in the ear and his son (Dr Vinay) will do the surgery.
After consultation with Dr. Vinay Rudrappa I took his appointment on 2nd NOV for surgery.
There were several tests etc done 1wk before the Surgery and also contacted doctor 2days before the surgey, I HAD COUGH that day and doctor suggested a tablet which I took for 2 days.
I underwent a "Tympanaplasty" surgery for my right EAR on 2nd NOV. After 2 months of surgery doctor told that the HOLE is still there.
The total cost of surgery including all pre-requisite was 46, 500--/--which I got from my company insurance.
Here are my concerns
1) Eventhough the COUGH was there for me the surgery was performed. This is just to make sure that the doctor time is not wasted, as appointment was taken. The patient's heath was not important for the doctor.
2) Communication and education to patient by this doctor VINAY is zero. Did not tell me how this surgery will be done what is the time, all questions asked and got answers. It was assured that the problem will cure after surgery.
3) No modern facilities in this hospital, if you check the hospital it does not have any modern sophisticated instruments but charges are very HIGH and it increases if you say you have an insurance.
4) After all these PAIN and misery... surgery is UNSUCCESSFULL make me feel very depressed, I dont want to get re-surgery and take all that pain. rather I will be like this
My demands: I want the doctor to Pay me atleast 2lakhs (two lakhs) in COMPENSATION FOR THE AGONY AND PAIN I underwent and for loosing my Originality because of negligence and irresponsibilities. I have NO CONFIDENCE in this doctor and will not go for a re-surgery though he says it can be done free. How about misery... there is no simpathy for that
