I wish to tell u all about the large scale fraud going on in NRHM, U.P.

The medical officers who are mostly young MBBS graduates are not providing services to the rural masses as was axpected of them. There is large scale corruption. Modus operandi is very simple- the CMO of district takes away Rs. 15000 of the total salary of the medical officer and rest is taken by the medical officer who is in turn exempt from attendance at the health centre- both happy at their ends. The medical officers instead of serving the rural public, prepare for post graduate entrance examinations and take coachings in cities like Lucknow. Such great is the mutualism of the young MO and experienced CMOs. Each CMO makes atleast Rs.50000-150000 (additional to his own pay) per month. Hope government could do something regarding this malpractice and provide needy population the basic haelth facilities which is the goal of NRHM (National Rural Health mission).
