This is in reference to irrational behaviour and improper treatment procedure followed by doctor, Who are practicing privately as well as in Medical college and are charging extra fees and getting commision from hospitals where they refer a patient for hospitialization.
I am a resident of Jhansi (U.P) working in NOIDA.Recently my daughter was hospitalized in one of the public hospital in Jhansi. We consulted a doctor (AnilKaushik, Medical College) who refered us for hospitilization in nearby hospital.
After getting discharged, I needed to claim the medical expences. It was then the problem started.
I was told that for processing of medical claims the necessary document is: "Discharge Summary", Registartion no of practicing doctor etc.
The doctor first refused to provide any such detail but after intervention of insuarance company, He agrees to provide the details.
When I reached the doctor at his convenient time he made us wait for almost an hour, and then refused to provide information in a format as shared by medical company.
The Medical company needs the reasons that caused the baby to be hospitalized and the treatment that has been given.
He refused to talk with the medical personnel on phone for discussing the requirements.
Also he refused to give his registration no. which was needed by the medical company.
He also threw the files of patience and torn the format which medical company has provided.
After lot of hot arguments he provide a part of the details related to patient but then refused to provide stamp on his letter head. Worst thing happened when he charged me Rs 200 for providing the documents.
He used abusive language for having treated us and has misbehaved. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable from doctors who are valued for relieving pain.
My main concern is that do this doctor dont know what all document has to be provided to the patient or his family at the time of discharge. Also he was not aware of the format in which dicharge summary has to be given due to which I have to make two trips to my home town for collecting the necessary information. As a doctor his behavior is not accetable.
Highlights:
1). The doctor has no registration no on his letter head.
2). He is practising Privately as well as in goverment medical college.
3). Charging extra fees for giving patient documents.
4). Have no information regarding what should be written on a discharge summary.
5). Refuses to provide stamp on his prescription letter head.
