Irritated by slow speed

I am getting irritated by the 256kbps speed of bsnl broadband. I am wasting 750/- each month for it. I expected that they should give a minimum of 512kbps but all in vain. When I want to download a big file it takes too much time (disgusting). It is not only the waste of money but also the waste of electricity.
They have to really think about it.
