Unfair practice - investment locked up on devices

Dear Sir,

The lap-top internet connection schemes are selling internet connecting device along with the connection. If any person doesnt want to continue with the connection, the device becomes useless as it works only for that internet connection. Therefore, even if a consumer wants to shift from one internet provider to another on account of any reason, for fear of waste of investment on device, they are unable to shift and are forced to continue with the same internet company. This way, most of the laptop internet connection providing companies are cheating general public with their tricky pricing strategy.

This has to be seriously looked in to in the general interest. Portability from one device to another device has to be made available irrespective of the internet service provider. If such portability is made then the money expended by consumers towards the device will not be locked up and wasted.

Early action is highly appreciated in the interest of general public.
