Broadband Service - incomplete information at purchase

I recently (27 July '10) Purchased a broadband service from airtel, confirming that it was 'unlimited', as told by the sale man. Everything was done and installation was complete.
On the 30 July'10, I get a call from Bangalore (Ph- 08043483770), the Customer Support representative then informs me that the 512 KBPS line would go down to 256 KBPS after a download limit of 8 GB .
This I believe is cheating and now have asked Airtel to cancel their line. I don't know if there any other surfers who face this issue.
