Defective

I ordered a Mini Sewing Machine through Indiatime shopping and payment was made through credit card. The Scheme was buy 1 get 1 free. Though I received the product in time but both the machines are defective and not working at all. Now what do I do? Since I have made the payment and received the packet do I have to bear the loss or would you suggest some course of action other than redressal at consumer forum. A line in reply shall be obliged.
