Trap in Barlcays Priority membership & facing continuous Harassment

Some representative went to my mother's office and offered her a Barclay Priority member ship card.

At that point of time he told that it will be Free of cost. My mother agreed for it. Thats was the biggest mistake of her life. After receving the card we were shocked to get a bill of Rs. 6741.00 as charges of Prioroty membership card. I kept on telling it was not told to me but all in vain.

I lodged a complaint on call centre no's, greivance cell mail ids etc but nothing happened. They have refused to cancel my charges & say that Barclay priority memebership cannot be cancelled.

Then i cut their card in to four pieces & dropped it in a drop box in Nehru place. I lodged an official claim for this vide claim no. SR0606090198590 & i was being assured that my card will be treated as cancelled but i am still getting the bills for the due amount stating that my card is active.

When i have not made a purchase of even a single penny, then why should i pay Rs. 6741.00 & now n their statements they claim that due to late payment charges my outstanding had gone to Rs. 11000.00.

What the hell is this... i have not made a purchase of even a single penny & Barclay is trying to extract money from us.

Even after destroying the card, informing barlclay, receipt of complaint no. even today i am getting reminders of payment in terms of statements. Is their greivance cell deaf and dumb??? whats the use of giving the phone no's or mail id's for greivance if they donot care to provide a solution by looking into reality.

And the worst was yet to come... my mother required a loan & now she had been denied for it beacuse her outstandings are there with Barlcay card. We are being asked to pay the money eventhough we had not made a prcuase even worth a single penny from this card.

I have seen a lot of complaint of Barlcay priority membership circle where in they are doing this with a lot of people. Can someone pls tell me how to teach a lesson to Barlcay as i am being continuously harassed by them past 7 months.
