Harassment for collection of Late Payment Charges and Interest thereon

Sir / Madam,

I had used My Barclays Bank Credit Card (4339488945252279) 1st time in my life on 19-07-08 for Two movie tickets for Rs.230/-. I have received Statement for payment due on 08-09-08. I have made payment through cheque on 05-09-08 for Rs.230/- and drop the cheque in the drop box, but they are showing the receipt on 12-09-08 and after that they are continuously charging Late payment and Interest thereon till date. Now they are harssing to me for payment which is more than six thousand and this amount is only cumulated amount of late payment charges and Interest thereon. Is there any criteria to stop these kind of harassment?
