I bought Max plan given in the launch offer against payment of Rs 4990/- . The installation, demo and activation was done by 'supposed to be Reliance company representative' on 07 Sep 2008. He took four Recharge Vouchers (RCV) totaling Rs 3500/- bearing No 8002265269, 8002265268, 8002265267 @ Rs 1000/- each and RCV no 8003205125 for RS 500/- for activate of my connection as per Max Plan.

After activation, I was surprised to find that popular channels viz. CNN, BBC world, Zee were not accessible. On lodging complain, customer care informed me that by mistake, my connection has been registered under 'Premium' plan and necessary action will be taken to change over to "Max plan". These popular channels were activated subsequently, implying that mistake has been corrected against my complain.

In Dec I started getting repeated SMS to recharge immediately to avoid disconnection. On contacting the customer care on 22 Dec (complain No 78492865) and repeatedly thereafter (Complain No. 86306393, 87334586) till 18 Jan 09, I got the same standard reply from customer care executive – Kundu, Swapnil, ganesh, arvind, sahil, anish, Tarun (claimed to be senior person), Jayoti Nigaram "Sir, your complain has been registered for appropriate action and our superiors will get in touch within 24 hrs". The promised contact by so called superiors remained a distance dream. The written complain sent to the customer care center by speed post, and additional one posted on info@bigtv.co.in was not replied. My connection was finally blacked out on 22 Jan.

On 31 Jan 09, after pleading the customer care executive, I could contact Ms Pallavi Gorpade, Sr Supervisor, who claimed to be senior most person on behalf of Reliance communication & entertainment and takes all decision related to customers of big tv. Without giving any consideration to my complain & justification, she kept on giving a stereo type reply - “ As per our records you have been registered for premium plan valid for three months and you need to make payments to restore the connection”.

I feel disgusted and harassed that in spite of paying full money for Max package, I have been not only denied free access for all channels for one year but also blocked the accessing within 4 months of installation.

It is heartening to see that a giant company like Reliance has resorted to unethical business tactics for making fast buck by cheating common man, luring them to pay more without giving any service and leaving the customers to their fate to defend themselves with unprofessional, inefficient customer care personnel with casual attitude who are no good to solve the problem created by themselves.
