Very Frequent Net disconnects

I have bee using BSNL unlimited 256kbps connection since past 2 years and recently upgraded to 512 kbps unlimited. I have a very major problem of net disconnects every few minutes sometimes continuously throughout the day. It is very frustrating and am on the verge of going for another option. Please help resolve. I use a D-Link DSL 502T modem.
