Hello,
We got some of our house hold stuff like Fridge, TV, Washing Machine and a few small items shifted from our Pune home to Mumbai, Mahim on 5th April. The payment decided was all inclusive of packing, moving to Mumbai and unpacking in Mumbai. We were told that there would be no Octroi to be paid as this were all household items
We got extremely bad experience from Caravan Packers and Movers, Pune. The chain of events :
1. Packers and Movers turned up 1 hour late
2. It took 6 hours to reach the stuff to Mumbai. It reached at 7 in the evening. Meanwhile we were trying to trace the goods and we could not get any help from anyone. Mr. Bala from Pune office who was our contact did not pick up the phone during this entire period
3.Once it reached Mumbai, the driver demanded that we pay the Octroi amount without which he refused the goods to be unloaded from the truck
4. Also there was no one to unpack the goods from the truck. Mumbai office were not aware about this transaction. We kept on calling offices from Delhi, Pune, Mumbai to get some help, still no response from Mr. Bala
5. Finally Mumbai office sent labourers to unpack the goods at 11 pm in the night. Then there was an argument between them and the driver as he was still demanding the Octroi amount.
6. We paid the Octroi charges as we could not keep on waiting for their decision. We had already spent 10 hours on this from 1 PM in the afternoon.
7. The Unpackers who came just brought the goods by the lift in the house. They then refused to unpack it as they were not informed about this
8. At 11.00 PM in the night we could contact Mr. Bala in Pune who told us that let the unpacker from Mumbai go and he would send other ones the next day
9. The next entire day I kept on calling him and he kept on promising me that he would send the unpackers within half an hour
10. Finally next day in the evening I unpacked the goods by myself.
Here I saw a total lack of communication between Pune and Mumbai offices. Also the Washing Machine came in a a damaged state which I have to get repaired. After that we have not got any call from the agency, no apology, no compensation.
