Cat Bite in Subiksha
Bitten by a cat reared by the staff

I reside in Mira Road and visited Subiksha, Shop No. 123, Flat No. 1, Shanti Shopping Centre, Opp Mira Road Railway Stn, Mira Road (E), today, 29/03/08 at 7.33 p.m.

while selecting the pulses in the pulses section, the cat reared by the staff came and bit me on the leg. There was blood oozingng from the wound which was witnessed by the staff. At that moment the Manager was not present and hence I communicated this to the lady at the billing counter. I went to a Dr. immediately and took a tetanus injection. The Dr. told me to start 5 rabies injection from tomorrow itself. The name of the injection/vaccine is Rabipur and cost of each injection is Rs. 369.00.

After visting the Dr. and taking second opinion from another Dr. I went back to Subiksha and met the Manager, Mr. Sohen Chandra Bose. (Mobile No. 9423908598) We told him that Subiksha will have to reimburse the entire medical expenses which sums upto approx. Rs. 2500/ He consulted his senior management. We have not received any reply from them yet.

A Supermarket is not a place to rear animals where consumers frequently walk in and out. As the fault lies with Subiksha for keeping, rearing a cat and letting it loose to which I have become a victim. The cat is not given any vaccines nor it is registered. The entire expense of my injections plus doctors charges will have to be borne by Subiksha as they are at fault for rearing a cat and letting it loose to bite consumers.

I go to Subiksha because it offers savings and I ended up with a huge lose plus physical pain due to the bites. This vist has affected me physically, psychologically and financially.

I hope my matter is taken up with the Subiksha authorities for reimbursement.
