Esclators and lifts are operational only during peak hours

I travel from Chintadripet to Tiruvanmiyur everyday in MRTS. My concern is that escalators and lifts are not operated during early morning and in night times. For instance, at Chintadripet station the escalators are not switched on until 8am or so. But the first service starts at 4:23 am itself. I understand only few people travel at those wee hours but still why should they suffer?? I strongly condemn this mean behavior of the authorities concerned.
