Letter of appointment

After an on-line interview, I received a job offer from Chevron Texaco Ltd as Senior Project Supervisor for their Phase 2 expansion of Captain Area C oil field project in UK. I am required to sign a Contract document, signed and sent to me as attachment. Both the job offer and the contract are signed by Dr Smith Brooks, Head of Employment relations of Chevron Texaco. Another requirement is that before they process the work permit / visa, I have to take an ' Overseas travellers' Insurance Policy through 'Allied Durbar assurance Plc'.Presumably, for taking the policy, they will demand payment in advance.

I wish to know wheter the job offer is genuine
