Delay in receiving Updated Passport

Hello Sir/Madam,

My name is Girisha Lingaiah. I had applied for a update of Surname in my passport on 09th September; file number is BNGH01391709

It's been almost 2 weeks since I see the status as "Your police verification report has not been received by us yet”

I Sent mail across mail ID - corrections@dataone.in and problr@dataone.in asking Is we need police verification for modification name (for below case) and got reply as Thanks for your mail and We have corrected the same on date 22nd september.

Current &-gt; First Name - Girisha Lingaiah

Surname - Blank

Required &-gt; First Name - Girisha

Surname - Lingaiah

When i see status today, it's showing same message as police verification is pending. Authorities informed it will take maximum of 15days to receive updated passport.

I want my passport urgently. Please help! Can you let me know who has to be contacted for knowing the status.
