Fraud mails on behalf of Income Tax India

Dear sir,

I got one message from IncomeTaxIndia asking me about my personal banking information like bank account number, and in accordance I submitted this information using my banking user name and password.

In parallel, I got alerting mail from HDFC bank about few fraud mail messages relevant to such refund benefits. So, I have doubt about trust of this mail got IncomeTaxIndia. Of course, in a day, I got changed all my banking personal information securing my account. But, yet I am suspicious this hacker might have forwarded or misused my power to IncomeTax department about future refund transaction directly into his/her account.

Also, I complained to local income tax office, Surat (Gujarat) and wrote mail to refunds@incometaxindia.gov.in, too. But, till date reply is awaited.

In short, my interest is to request you to alert and confirm with me before executing any refund transaction into account of any such fraud person on behalf of me OR please, issue hard cheque to my address.
