Hi all,
I am using a Dish TV DTH connection at home. There is a issue with my set-top box, which will take atleast 3-6 hours to boot after a power-cut. I called up customer care for this, and I was told that I need to download some updated software to fix the issue. And also, I was asked to pay Rs. 225 taxes for this. I am wondering why I need to pay for a software update, since the issue is with the settop box software, which is not caused because of any defect at my end. Its purely with the settop box. So why I need to pay for it. When I asked the call center executive about this, she replied very rudely saying that I need to pay ottherwise live with the issue. I had even told them to close the connection, she simply cut the call.
Now, I am left with no other choice other than dumping my Dish DTH, for which I had spent Rs. 4000. Its purely cheating.
Beware of Dish TV DTH service.
