Duplicate pan card
DELAY IN ISSUING DUPLICATE PAN CARD

Sir/Madam,

I had submitted by Application for Duplicate PAN CARD bearing PAN NO.AEPPG0792N on 6th March.

It is more than ten months since my application and submission of relevant documents. However, I am yet to receive my duplicate PAN CARD.

This being a very important document required in several transactions and is also an identification proof, it is of utmost urgency that I receive my duplicate PAN CARD at the earliest.

Even after a lapse of more than ten months, the online status as on 10th January '09 is showing as "Your application for 'New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data' has been forwarded to Income Tax Department.". The same online status was being despatched even 3 1/2 months back.

I fail to understand the cause of so much delay despite my repeated reminder mails and followups.

I hope that this complaint will yield some results and the matter be resolved at the earliest instead of exchanging perfunctory correspondence with the department.
