In 2001 had an educational loan from IOB to pursue my studies in overseas. My repayment started in 2004 in that year i had no employment and was struggling to meet my ends. During that time my dad took personal loan to pay off the loan as my dad was not working. In 2008 we went to india for personal operation bank abused us a lot during our arrival then manager requested that if we could pay the principal then they could waive the interest. So we sold our jewellery in india to make sum of 4 lac to pay the principal and wrote a letter of request to waive the interest (we provided the communication details) and we came back to the country. After eight months they again abused my parents and me over the phone and written threatening email that they will file a case against me for not paying the dues... How do we know the feedback from Bank... even though we supplied the communication address there has been no correspondence from IOB in relation to the letter of interest waive. At the current situation they are requesting to pay RS 1.50 lac immediatedly how could we make the money and this is totally causing us mental stress. I am consulting with my lawyer about the threatening emails sent to us from IOB . This is totally unacceptable. Please help us.
