Non-delivery of parcel at the residence

Dear Sir,

The parcel that was sent to me has already reached the PostOffice. I got a call (dated May 13th 09 at 10:10 a.m) from Mr. Devi Dayal, a staff of the Post Office asking me to collect my parcel since the post man for the locality (Sec-37) is on leave. He says that they have no alternative provision if the postman is on leave and I have to collect it orelse the parcel will be lying in the Post Office for an indefinite period. I being a working professional; it becomes inconvinient to collect it.

When we are paying all the charges for the postal delivery, then isnt it the responsibility of the Post Office to deliver it at the address? Kindly Comment.
