We have admitted our servant's kid to a nursery school called 'First Step School' in Malviya Nagar. Two weeks back the school had a parents teacher meeting and informed us that on 14th March there will be an annual function and the child will be taking part in the dance event. We were told to dress her with lehenga choli and jewelery and bring her to school. We made her dress up in the required attire along with a pearl necklace and earrings. It is shameful to say that a centre of learning practices discrimination against poor people. The child was prepared for the dance, but was not allowed to take part in the event. Her necklace was taken robbed and when principal was confronted she had nothing to say. It is really shameful we pay money to the school in the hope of giving proper education to our children. It doesn't matter if the kid is a servant's kid or a rich man's kid. Every child has the right to education and it's disgraceful in a city like Delhi, people still behave in such an unruly manner. We have also paid the fees and now we want the school compensates for their discriminatory attitude and for the real pearl necklace they have robbed from a 3 year old child.
