TNT Courier Service - non delivery

Sir,

I was informed by TNT Courier Service, Manchester, UK that a parcel containing a cheque for 500, 000.00 GBP being prize money given by FREE LOTTO COMPANY, UK is being couriered vide Parcel Order No. GX-22589420 and on 30.10.2008 informed that the said envelope was seized and held by British Customs Aurthorities at Heathow Airport; on 31.10.2008 a notice purported to be from HM REVENUE &CUSTOMS, HEATHOW AIRPORT and signed by one Mr. Van Der Beag/Customs Controller General was sent to my e-mail ID asking to me to pay 520GBP as "Mandatory Tax Charges" to clerar the consignment (parcel); I have my own doubts about the genuity of this "Notice"; hence, request you to please look into this matter and give me your valuable advise.
