"UNprofessional" courie

Recently I sent a courier through PROFESSIONAL COURIERS, Chennai to my home town, Kochi.

Its interesting how unsuitable names can be - Professional??

I had sent this through their Selaiyur, Chennai branch representative to my brother in law, with his full address and contact mobile nos. on the cover. Since he did not receive it even after 14 days we made repeated enquiries to their Chennai office and we were told that the letter has been delivered on 26/2.

On 13/3 we found out that one Mr. Jino, who works in the Panampilly Nagar office of Professional couriers went to my brother in law's house and since nobody was there threw the courier material into the verandah. This apparently landed in the roof of the house and despite the telephone contact nos. being on the cover he never contacted the addressee to inform what happened. He then signed the POD HIMSELFon behalf of my brother in law and NEVER INFORMED ANYONE!!

When I contacted the company they kept telling me the consignment has been delivered on 26/2 and signed by the RECEIVER!!

When contacted on 13/3 Mr. Jino the company deliverer said this was a REGULAR FEATURE of Professional couriers that if the addressee is not there he will throw it and sign the POD himself. I have the POD here and it IS NOT my brother in law's signature. He feels he did nothing unusual, he was just being PROFESSIONAL!

Can you believe this in a EMERGING SUPERPOWER like India? I mean we pay three times the charges to send sensitive material through these guys and look what happens.

My request to you humble countrymen is BEWARE of these traps - we have no mechanisms to deal with them, so be on your guard on what you send.
