Charged policy amount on my citibank credit card even when I donot wanted to renew the policy

Hello.

I had received a Good Health Policy Renewal notice from New India Assurance. Ref. No. of renewal notice is 6086/11760/GHOCT07. They informed me that the amount will be charged on my CitiBank Credit card that I gave them atleast an year before.

I immediately sent an email to them on nia25@vsnl.com that I donot want to renew my policy. I sent this email on 24th Sept. 2008 and the policy renew date was 1st Oct. 2008. Even then New India Assurance Company charged me Rs. 4986 against policy amount. Now I have to pay Rs. 4986 (plus Rs. 780 as Insurance Transaction Fee from CitiBank.)

My cancellation request was not entertained and it seems that it was simply ignored. This is really pathetic. Please help. My contact number is 9821633906 and I live in Mumbai.
