Processing Fee Wrongly Charged - Business Loan Account No. 000002763446

Dear Sir / Madam,

I had taken Business Loan from Barclays Bank on 15.09.2008 as per details given below :-

(1) Loan Account No. : 000002763446

(2) Customer Relationship No. : 303588

(3) Loan Amount Sanctioned: Rs. 11.00 Lacs

(4) Sanction cum Disbursement Date : 15.09.2008

(5) Loan Amount Disbursed: Rs. 1063670.00

(6) Tenure : 48 Months (4 Years)

(7) Rate of Interest Charged : 19% per Annum on Monthly Reducing Basis

(8) EMI: Rs. 32890.00 per Month

(9) EMI Due Date : 5th of every Month

(10) Processing Fee Debited Wrongly: Rs. 22000.00

(11) Service Tax on above Processing Fee: Rs. 2719.00

(12) Name of Loan Account Holder: MR. PANKAJ GOYAL, GOYAL ENTERPRISES

An amount of Rs. 1063670.00 was disbursed to me by way of ECS to my ICICI Bank Account No. 003705010272 on 15.09.2008 whereas the loan amount sanctioned was Rs. 11.00 Lac. When I asked my DSA for the balance amount of Rs. 36330.00, he told me that may be Barclays Bank has charged ADVANCE EMI but the same will be cleared once the Loan Account Statement will be delivered to you.

I am doing regular follow-ups with my DSA as well as with Barclays Bank's Customer Care, but all my efforts are in-vain and I niether received any satisfactory answer from both of them nor I have received any statement from Barclays Bank till last so many days. Now, I have received the statement and I am really shocked to see that you have charged a Processing Fee of Rs. 22000.00 and Service Tax on Processing Fee amounting to Rs. 2719.00. Please note that niether anybody told me for the same at the time of filing of loan papers and even at the time of disbursement nor I have received any Email / SMS / Correspondence from Barclays Bank giving the processing fee details and hence I am not entitled to pay above Processing Fee and Service Tax on it.

I would therefore request you to please waive off the processing fee and service tax amount on an urgent basis and credit the same into my loan account immediately. If the same will not be credited then I will not have any other option but to approach the Consumer Forum and MRTP Commission, New Delhi to get the same credited into my account. I hope, you will not allow me to proceed further in this case and visit Consumer Forum and MRTP Commission.

Your top priority attention to above shall be highly appreciated.
