CREDIT CARD SETTLEMENT

I had a card with the limit of Rs 80, 000, from which I used 18, 000. Due to some personal reasons I need to go to my home town due to which I was deprived of the details of the card. Now after 1 year they are telling me that my amount due to over limit and it is 87, 060. which I never used and taken.

For 10 months I have been paying an amount of Rs 4500 and also for 4 months I paid around Rs 8000 to the bank executives whenever they wanted. Now when I ask for a settelement, they are not going to give me anything. I spoke to 10-15 agents about the same but there was no details about the same.

In case of the exact figure I already paid the bank about 72000. where in they are stating that the settlement should go off on 55, 000, which I can't pay at this moment. I don't have a job because of the recession. But the bank is not ready to listen. I know its a lapse from my end. But this is daylight robbing. Please suggest what I sould do and how can i reduce the settlement.
