Blockage of Salary Account

This is in regards to Credit Card # 4346771000541152. This account outstanding was settled by me paying the specified amount of around Rs 10000/- as a settlement amount around 5 years back.

I paid the amount and was given a settlement letter for the same. I currently do not have the settlement letter because this was a matter 5 years back. I usually destroy financial documents after 2 years for financial security reasons. Little did I realize that 5 years down the line that I would have a problem because of the card.

Dated 30/09/09 my salary with HDFC Bank # 04111140034362 was blocked because of a matter 5 years ago.

On Speaking to an advisor in the collections team Sachin, he stated that they were trying to reach me at my earlier address in Mahim, Gabriel House, #96, 6th Floor and I was not reachable. Why would they want to reach me in the first place when the matter was already settled and why should I have to update my address with the bank when I have no banking relationship at the time? Secondly how did they manage to block my current salary account without first sending me intimation regarding this issue? What right do you have to block my account?

If this matter is not settled at the earliest I will forward this concern to the Banking Ombudsman.

If you somehow could find my name against this new account # why did you not update the address and send me written intimations.

Please reply to my complaint ASAP or else I will take the required action against the bank.
