Unjustified Interest on Payments

Sir.

I am holding a Credit Card No.5176-5210-0533-4307 of HDFC Bank and in the month of Ocyober a Card Statement was received with the directions to deposit the dues by 31-10. Accordingly a cheque No.74713 dated 31-10 drawn on ICICI Bank, Nagpur for Rs. 2424.24 was deposited in one of the Drop Box on 30-10. Since the same was not excepted by the HDFC Bank Shanker Nagar, Nagpur Branch and was asked to drop in the collection box for which no receipt is being issued by the bank. Now on receipt of the Card Statement for the month of November received by me on 3-12 (Duplicate Statement since the origional has not been received and for the same a call was made to the call centre) its seen that an amount of Rs.393.26 has been levied on account of late fee where as I am not at fault since i had deposited my cheque before the due date.

I also apprehand that again the bank levie the late fee for not paying the payment of the moth of November where as the Card Statement was never received by me.

In these event the matter may please be taken up with the concerned bank to vaive off the late fee since the customer is not at fault. Secondly ther bank has kept the Post Box address as a result of which the Post Office does not accept the Registered Post and bank can easily say in future that they did not received the complaint or request from the ustomer.

Therefore, the Bank may be asked to give a diect address of communicatiion insead of POST BOX to save the customers from harrasment.
