My Honda City bearing Regn. No. UP-65-AF-7464 had got damaged due to heavy flooding on 19/08 at Varanasi. The vehicle was purchased from (PUSHP HONDA) Smart Cars Ltd., Kanpur on 20/02 and also insured by them from Iffci-Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd.

I alongwith my family were returning home and got held up in the middle of the road at night as the vehicle came to a halt. A sound was heard, as if the bottom of the car had hit one of the potholes which were unvisible at night. There was also no electricity that night as it was raining very heavily. We had to walk through thigh deep water till we found a few people who were kind enough to push the vehicle in the heavy downpour till our residence. The next morning the vehicle was not starting.

As there is no service provided by your company at Varanasi, I called Mr. Pramod of Smart Cars Ltd. Kanpur, and requested him to kindly send a mechanic to Varanasi at my expense to check the vehicle and repair it here if possible. He said this was not posible and that we should arrange to send the vehicle to Kanpur. Somehow the vehicle was transported to Kanpur on 26/08. The vehicle had been surveyed on 27/08. Almost a month as lapsed and the vehicle is lying as it was a month ago. Since the date the vehicle has been parked in the workshop and I have been making endless phone calls to the surveyor, the Insurance Co. as well as to Smart Cars Ltd. Kanpur. An enquiry had come from the surveyors side to which the reply was sent impromptu. The Insurance company has not yet till date given any instruction to the dealer nor to us to begin the repair work. The dealer had got the vehicle insured on cashless terms committing that the customer has not to bother about any claims whatsoever. But they have not bothered to call us even once to tell us about the progress of work.

Such service is not expected from a dealer of Honda. I regret having purchased a world famous car, where dealers present a very rosy picture and make tall claims at the time of sales providing me everything on my desk from a test drive to excellent after sales service as well as cashless insurance. When it comes to facts and actual settlement of claims they send to dissapear or shy away by making false excuses so that they don't have to bear any expense.

I am writing my experience with utmost sorrow and grief in anticipation that the wise men sitting on the other side of the table will be able to realise the trauma me and my family have been undergoing without our vehicle for almost a month and will defenitely persuade and instruct Smart Cars Ltd., Kanpur, to take full responsibility of the claim whatsoever and prove the HONDA committment of excellenct service and customer atisfaction.
