From last one week my Civic's ignition lock has stopped accepting the key. I am unable to insert the key in the ignition lock. I bought the car from 'Bhavya Honda', a previous dealer of Surat but now the dealership has changed to 'Landmark Honda'. The new dealer says they dont have much data for your previous sevices done by old dealer. They blame old dealer for all service faults. Dealer's service person says that my car is not under standard warranty and i'll have to pay Rs. 14000/- for replacing the ignition lock and key. I purchased car on 21st July. The dealer says it's because of wear and tear of lock. But I dont understand how can lock have wear and tear. Honda should design lock that it lasts for 6-7 years atleast. I have 6 Honda cars. But honda has let me down. I have always used company key, so there is no matter of other use. I have never seen such ignition lock problem in any of the cars ever in life. Lock and key is the main part of car for cars usage and security. But Honda doesnt understand this and saya that they cant change the lock without cost. I have spoken with the dealer and he says that they cant do anything on free basis. so than I spoke with company and from last 3 days they are also not replying me satisfactorily. They keep on saying that they are forwarding this matter to technical department. and thats all. The final step would be to take help of consumer court or forums. Thank you.
