According to the new immigration act, all foreign workers coming to Malaysia for the sole purpose of employment into the hospitality industry/sector have to pay 50% of his/her first month salary/wage as an Immigration Security Bond (compulsory requirement of Malaysia immigration dept) and is refundable upon the completion of your contract of agreement (minimum one-year) with your employer, if the foreign worker has not violated the rules and regulations of the Malaysian Immigration Department. However should the employee violate any laws here in Malaysia; this security deposit will be used as their air fare to effect deportation.
