I have purchased HP Pavilion DV2901TU Laptop on 13th, september'08.

I had two reasons which made me to prefer HP.

1.)The positive feedback from many of my friends who had purchased HP laptop.

2.)The brand name HP-known for CUSTOMER CARE.

But to my disappointment, my dvd drive did not work properly right from the month of november.

When i use dvd drive, my laptop will get restarted after showing me a blue screen error.

Right then i never could use my dvd drive. Although the problem had been found, i was able to give my laptop for service at HP service center located at peter's road, Royapettah, chennai, only on 29th, Nov'08, as my university exams were on schedule. Once i was informed that issue was fixed up, i had received my laptop back on 5th, dec'08. But while i received my latop, i had found that my problems was not fixed up properly. But i was misguided by an HP EXECUTIVE at service center that, HP DOES CARE ONLY FOR HARDWARE AND NOT SOFTWARE. Also i was told that once i format my system, i can able to use my dvd drive.

I had beleived that HP customer care people were much responsible and does really care for their customers. So, i left to Ramanadapuram on the same day for project work. But to my disappointment, the same problem with dvd drive persisted, even after formatting my laptop completely.

Also i had found a physical damage in my laptop, while i had recieved it after being serviced. A minute hole was spotted at the left side of the touch pad. So i had booked a complaint to Mr. SELVAM stating the damage. They did not feel responsible to reply me with a solution.

Next issue is, my model has 3GB RAM memory, but the system shows that only 2GB is available. I had booked all my compalints to Mr.selvam over phone, as i was in Ramanadapuram. Also Mr. John had agreed to get me a solution if i could meet him at service center at chennai.

As i had no other option, and could not continue using my laptop, i had to move to chennai so that i can consult the service center. I had suspended my project work for more than ten days. On 11th, dec'08 (today), i went to the service center hoping for an acceptable reason for all those issues that had raised after my laptop was serviced.

But, when i met Mr. John today, he did not feel responsible to reply me, but insisted to submit my laptop for service.

They blame me that i should have been more careful while i had recieved my laptop on 5th, Dec. But nowhere in the servie order or in the bill, it is mentioned that customer should check all the TECHNICAL STUFF in their laptop while receiving it, nor the executives at the serive center had instructed me to do so.

Is this the duty of the customer to check the technical stuff??? They should have been more responsible to check those stuff. If i had not found that only 2GB of RAM was available in my system (which should have 3GB), that will have gone unnoticed forever!!

Beyond all these issues, my laptop DOES NOT HAVE STABILITY, the system goes 'unresponding' frequently, so i feel that there is some other problem in my laptop, which is unable to be fixed up. I had spent around Rs. 1500 for traveling which is unnecessary burden for me. The only reason for this is I HAD PREFERED HP.
