Closure of bank account

Dear Sir/Madam,

I closed my savings account # 024-1009500-006 with HSBC Ultadanga y submitting their branch at Ultadanga, Kolkata and surrendered my debit card which was the only thing that I was carrying from the bank. The officer told me that the money will be sent to my correspondence address by mail.

When the money did not come after 1 month, I contacted them and they said that the credit cards linked with the bank account need to be delinked. After I did that they are now teling me that I need t visit their branch and close the account again.

Please advise.
