HSBC Credit Card
Statement without issuing credit card

I had applied for HSBC life time free credit card in March. I recvd a sms that i will get my card within 7 working days, after few days I recvd a letter stating the wrong process of the credit card with a note that HSBC can not issue the card. It stands cancelled. But I started recving statements of the card .since then i had been constantly contacting HSBC thru mail (also attached the copy of rejection and statement). But now I have started revg calls from the collection agency. I had explained them I dont have the card but in reply as they are demading an amount of Rs.5400 .
