Wrong Charges

My credit card had a total outstanding of Rs 110, 700 as on 4th September. The due date was 26th September. On 25th I got a call from the customer care asking me for the payment. I wanted to settle the entire amount, so I asked them to send their executive. 26th, 27th and 28th were holidays, hence the executive was supposed to come on 29th. The executive however did not come on 29th. So on 30th, I called up the IVR system and came to know from the automated response, that the total outstanding was now Rs 111, 700/-. I assumed that it would be due to late payment charges, hence I issues a cheque of Rs 111, 700/- on 30th September, which due to bank holiday on 30th and 2nd Oct, got cleared only on 3rd October. Today when I called up the customer care to verify if my credit card balance was zero or not, I came to know that my balance was Rs 3600/- on account of finance charges.
My statement is generated on 4th of every month, so why were the finance charges levied when I had made the total outstanding payment on 3rd itself. Also, nowhere in the terms and conditions does it mention the duration for which the finance charges will be applied. Also, why should I pay Rs 3600/ because their executive did not turn up on the decided date. Also, why did the IVR system show the total outstanding without the finance charges if there were supposed to be any on 1st October. How come in one day i.e between 1st and 3rd October, suddenly there were finance charges levied.
Its extremely stressful to have these conversations with the customer care guys since they are rude and extremely non customer friendly.
