Bad Experience with HSBC

I hold HSBC Gold credit card (in fact two of them) and I had
set up an ECS to pay the total amount due directly from my bank
account on the payment due date. I find that recently in the case
of a rather large payment (about 1 lakh) they requisitioned ECS
from the bank 3 days before the due date. Anticipating their bill,
I had arranged sufficient balance 2 days before the due date, but
their early requisition took me by surprise and the ECS request
was dishonoured by my bank. When I learned this, I explained
to HSBC people and as per their instruction, I submitted a cheque
for the total amount due, which was duly cleared. However, HSBC
has charged heavy finance charges and are not willing to reverse
this. I believe I was not in fault and I am deeply disappointed with
HSBC for doing this. I am seriously considering going to the consumer court and fight it out. What do the members of this forum think?
