Hypercity
Double Charge in Bill

Miscellaneous

Hi,

I shopped at HyperCity Malad west outlet today (Aug 8). When I reached home I found that I was charged 2 times for AXE deodorant whereas I purchased only one piece. Details as below:

1. Cash Memo No: 257

2. Date & Time: 08/08/10 and 16:22

3. Cashier: Vinayak

4. Register: 040

5. Item No: 100336825

6. Amount Charged Extra: Rs. 160

7. Credit card used for payment: Citibank card ending with 0008

I called up their call centre immediately (around 5:30 on 08/08/10) and Ms. Bindu Bapu who attended to my call told me that I need to go to the outlet to get the money back. I was aghast at the response as this would mean that I need have to incur a cost of almost Rs. 200 and spend around 90 minutes in travelling to get the money for no fault of mine. I asked her to arrange for refund to my credit card and she promised a call back in 30 mins. I did not receive any call for 2 hours and I called back on the same number. All I have got from her is the complaint no: 00594529.

I got a call back from Bindu again on Tuesday (10/08/10) and she asked me to collect the money from HyperCity whenever I go there. I explained to her my problem - i) I visit Hypercity not more than once in 6 months as I stay in Andheri E ii) It is easy to misplace these bills iii) I may not even remember to collect this amount when I actually visit Hypercity. Since Bindu was unable to resolve my problem, I spoke to the "Senior Supervisor". He asked for some time and called back within 15 mins. As I was in a meeting, asked him to call again but I have not received a call back even after 24 hours.

I would request an immediate resolution of this - either the amount is refunded to my credit card or they deliver the amount to my residential address.

Regards,

Abhisek
