Chargeback dispute

I had filed a charge back dispute with Icici bank on 4th of May09 under complaint no. SR105140944. I was asked fax the same in writing which i did. Again i called up enquire about the status which was on 3jul09 where i was told that theyhad never recvd the fax and was asked to fax the letter again. I was given a confirmation call that they have recvd the fax and a new complaint number was given to me, which is SR107578707. I was assured that they will do the needful and the case will be closed. on 29th jul09 looking at my statement i have seen that the amount 2896 has been debited to me and they are not ready to purse the case any more. Is this the way ICICI bank makes profit by duping people. Please do not apply for ICICI credit cards. They do not stand by to what they say. Even after you get a confirmation call from them, DO NOT TRUST THEM. I am going to end all relationships with this bank.
