Undue harassment

I am an old customer of ICICI Bank and have several accounts and FDs in the bank. Consequent upon my marriage with Sh. Sandeep Sood I had requested for a change in surname and to convert the existing saving account No. 001301551587 into a Joint account. My husband, who also has an account in this bank has already been able to change his account into a joint one by including my name as Shirley Sood. For doing the needful I had submitted my marriage certificate as well as newspaper cuttings regarding change in name. But the bank refuses to accept the Marriage certificate. I am infuriated to see that the though the said certificate is legal and binding in all respects and has been accepted by all Govt. agencies, a private firm like ICICI has the audacity to reject my Marriage certificate on flimsy grounds. I am an Inspector with the Customs and Central Excise department and my office has also changed my name based on the same records. I shall not suffer any more harassment and am going to lodge a case with the Consumer Forum.
