ICICI Credit Card
Statement recieved for a Credit Card which was never recieved by me

Hi,

I had an ICICI credit Card ending with 5001. I made a change of address in the month of Dec/Jan. In the next month i got two statements one which ends with 5001 (mine) and the other is 5000 which was never recieved by me. I called up the customer care and informed about this. They said they will investigate this and will let me know. Later i got a call saying i am liable to make the payment. I asked them to produce the investigation report to me so that i can clarify the concerns, but they never did that.

Questions

1.I have not received the card at all. How can the bank make me liable for payment?

2.To whom the statements of the card 4477xxxxxxxx5000 were sent before December.

3.On what basis the card 4477xxxxxxxx5000 address was mapped to my address as I didn’t request for change of address of this card as I don’t hold it.

4. The application for the credit card has a photograph attached, did the Bank verified both the applications 5000 and 5001 to make sure whether the persons are the same.

5.Did the bank verify the address which was before December whether the person is available or not?

6.It was said that there were payments for 5000 card before December. Why the bank was not able to trace the payments made?

7.Transactions do have Air deccan and Indian railway tickets booked which definitely has the person details. Why the bank was not able trace them.

Please help me how to handle this and let me know what documents are required to file a case in the consumer court.
